To our loyal patients:

We would like to address the public with transparency and confirm that there has been a positive case of COVID-19 in our office. The person who has been infected and their family have been told to stay at home in quarantine. Out of extra precaution, we have sent three employees home in isolation for the safety of our patients and community. Note that these employees are absolutely fine with no symptoms even after six days. We are following all of the guidelines provided by the CDC and our regional health department. We are taking extra precautions in cleanliness and safety. The office is being disinfected regularly with products that kill many bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19. The building has also been separated into sick and well sides. We will continue to see patients as always, and we will have a nurse outside the building checking temperatures before admittance into the building. Our staff is wearing protective gear. We promise we are doing everything that we can to protect our staff and patients, and we will continue to do so.

Please understand that the safety of our patients and staff is our #1 priority. Also know that we are trying to move to TeleMedicine services in the coming days to further prevent any exposure. Only a computer or smart device will be necessary for this service. You will be able to see a provider through your device, and you can contact the receptionist for an appointment through this service at 423-663-4200 EXT-0.

If you have been seen in the office recently, there is no reason for concern. Please do not call the emergency number unless there is an emergency or you are experiencing all three of the following symptoms: fever of 100.4 or higher, cough, and shortness of breath.

Do not panic! Common sense is our best defense against COVID-19. Please practice social distancing, stay at home, continue to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer, stay informed through media networks, and pray for our country, our community, and our health care workers.

**Remember 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Thank you,

Tim Smith, M.D.
